ATLANTA, GEORGIA — July 20, 2026 — The Office of the Special Envoy for U.S. Trade & Investment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia, is pleased to announce that Hon. Isaac E. Taggart, Jr., Special Envoy for U.S. Trade & Investment, delivered the keynote address during the Republic of Liberia's 179th Independence Day Commemoration in Atlanta, Georgia.

The event convened members of the Liberian diaspora, elected officials, business leaders, community organizations, and strategic partners in celebration of Liberia's independence while reaffirming the country's enduring relationship with the United States and its commitment to economic transformation through partnership, investment, and diplomacy.

In his keynote address, Hon. Taggart reflected on Liberia's history while emphasizing the responsibility of today's generation to shape the nation's future through strategic economic engagement, private-sector investment, and disciplined execution of Liberia's national development priorities.

The Special Envoy highlighted the growing role of commercial diplomacy in advancing President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr.'s ARREST Agenda, underscoring that sustainable development requires stronger collaboration between government, investors, institutions, and the global Liberian diaspora. He encouraged Liberians at home and abroad to view themselves not simply as participants in Liberia's story, but as active builders of its next chapter. The Office's broader mission is to connect strategic capital, institutional partners, and serious operators with high-impact opportunities across Liberia's priority sectors.

The program was organized through the leadership of Mr. Bior Bropleh and the Liberia Association of Georgia, whose efforts brought together distinguished guests from across government, business, academia, and the diaspora in a celebration of national pride and shared purpose.

Hon. Taggart was introduced by his longtime mentor, Hon. Julius Earl Coles, whose decades of leadership and public service have helped shape Liberia's engagement with the international community and inspired a new generation of leaders.

As part of the official ceremony, Hon. Taggart presented Strategic Partnership Citations on behalf of the Republic of Liberia to The Honorable Omari Crawford, The Honorable Segun Adeyina, and The Honorable El-Mahdi Holly, recognizing their exceptional leadership and steadfast commitment to strengthening relations between Liberia and the State of Georgia.

In recognition of his contributions to advancing U.S.–Liberia trade, investment, and bilateral engagement, Hon. Taggart was presented with an official Resolution by Representative Omari Crawford and members of the Georgia Africa Legislative Caucus, acknowledging his service in promoting stronger economic and diplomatic ties between Liberia and the United States.

Hon. Taggart attended the ceremony accompanied by his wife, whose presence reflected the family's continued support for public service and engagement with the Liberian community.

The Independence Day commemoration further demonstrated the Office's commitment to engaging the Liberian diaspora as an important stakeholder in Liberia's long-term economic development. Through sustained dialogue with diaspora leaders, elected officials, private-sector executives, and institutional partners, the Office continues to expand the network of relationships that support Liberia's trade and investment objectives. This approach is consistent with the Office's broader strategy of cultivating high-value institutional engagement that advances practical outcomes rather than symbolic participation.

Building upon this engagement, the Office of the Special Envoy is now preparing for the next phase of the Invest in Liberia Roadshow, beginning in Houston, Texas, where senior business leaders, investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners will convene for focused discussions on Liberia's priority investment opportunities in energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, critical minerals, agriculture, logistics, and other strategic sectors. The Roadshow reflects the Office's commitment to moving beyond promotion toward structured dialogue that advances diligence, investment, and implementation.
