From June 17–21, 2025, Ambassador Isaac Taggart, Special Envoy for U.S. Trade & Investment for the Republic of Liberia, hosted the landmark Bridge to Prosperity: U.S.–Liberia Trade & Investment Mission. This high-level mission brought together 20 U.S.-based investors, government officials, and business leaders for five days of strategic engagement aimed at unlocking Liberia’s economic potential and fostering long-term bilateral partnerships.
The mission featured targeted sector presentations, government-to-business dialogues, and exclusive site visits to Liberia’s key investment corridors. Priority focus areas included mining, agriculture, energy, tourism, manufacturing, and infrastructure, with an emphasis on Public–Private Partnership (PPP) opportunities aligned with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.’s ARREST Agenda—Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism.
Delegates participated in one-on-one matchmaking sessions with Liberian ministries and agencies, signed investment memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and toured prospective project sites, including major ports, industrial zones, and energy installations. This hands-on approach allowed participants to see Liberia’s untapped potential firsthand and engage with the nation’s leadership at the highest levels.
Reflecting on the mission’s impact, Ambassador Taggart stated:
“The Bridge to Prosperity mission was not just about presenting opportunities—it was about building trust, creating actionable pathways for investment, and ensuring that U.S. and Liberian partners walk away with tangible outcomes that will benefit both nations for decades to come.”
The event concluded with a commitment to ongoing collaboration between U.S. companies and the Government of Liberia, as well as the preparation of follow-up investment dialogues scheduled for later in the year.
