Last week in Houston, Texas, Hon. Isaac Taggart, Special Envoy for U.S. Trade & Investment for the Republic of Liberia, served as a keynote speaker and presenter at the U.S.–Africa Energy Forum (USAEF) — a premier platform advancing dialogue, investment, and strategic collaboration in Africa’s rapidly evolving energy and minerals sectors.

Representing Liberia on the global stage, Hon. Taggart addressed an audience of energy leaders, policymakers, financiers, and innovators from across the world, emphasizing Liberia’s strategic positioning as a natural hub for investment. He highlighted the nation’s extensive coastline, world-class port infrastructure, and abundant natural resources, outlining priority areas under President Joseph Boakai’s ARREST Agenda — including mining, energy, agriculture, technology, and public–private partnerships.

In his remarks, Hon. Taggart stated:

“Liberia is uniquely positioned to be a leader in Africa’s energy and minerals development — not just as a resource hub, but as a driver of innovation, sustainable growth, and mutually beneficial partnerships. Now is the time for the U.S. to engage with Liberia as a strategic partner in shaping the future of energy and investment across the continent.”

The Forum reinforced the urgency of increased U.S. engagement in Africa’s energy and mineral race — not as an observer, but as a committed partner. Ambassador Taggart’s participation strengthened Liberia’s profile as an ideal investment destination and laid the groundwork for new strategic alliances aimed at innovation, infrastructure growth, and economic transformation.

Liberia is open for business, ready to lead, and committed to fostering long-term partnerships that drive mutual prosperity.
